The Metrology Unit consists of two posts:
(1) Technical Assistant - Mr. Luis Cho
Mr. Cho as the Metrology Technical Assistant is responsible for
| To follow the standard operating procedures for making arrangements with the compainies or individuals that have requested verification of metrology equipment |
| To test and inspect industrial weighing and measuring devices and prepeare a test report |
| To inspect and weigh or inspect and measure, any article or goods offer or exposed for sale to ensure that they comply with the provisions of the Weights and Measures Act. |
| To submit test reports to Director within twenty-four (24) hours of return from inspection for those metrology equipment for which a Certification of Verfication must be issued. |
| To update or advice the Director on metrology matters, including recommendations for changing metrology procedures or inspection reports, etc. |
| To attend court in connnection with the enforcement of the Weights and Measurements Act |
| To test and verify petrol pumps and prepare a Test Report |
| To submit weekly reports to Director |
| To submit monthly reports to Director |
| To sign and date conformance stickers affixed to pumps that are in calibration |
(2) Metrology Inspector - Ms. Darlin Larios
| Inspect and verify industrial scales and issue certifcates of compliance of its sale |
| Inspect and verify scales used for commerical purposes and issue a certificate of compliance for each scale |
| Inspect and verify fuel pumps used for commercial purposes and issue a certificate of compliance for each pump |
| Inspect and verify that pre-packaged goods are properly labelled to reflect the net content and the removal of those pre-packed goods that do not comply |
| Preparing summons and necessary documenation for the prosecution of cases against persons or businesses that have been found intentionally defrauding the public with deficient scales, fuel pumps or short weight measured goods. |
| Ensure working standards, metrology are in good working condition by ensuring that they remain within the calibrated limit |
